I am a Land’s End based artist and fashion/textile designer specialising in hand-dyed and printed textiles and hand-made greeting cards, trading under the name ‘Solstice Moon’.  My home studio is a 200+ year old barn, but it is nevertheless well equipped to cope with the small runs of specialised screen-printed scarves that are the main part of my business.

Screen prints for my scarves are developed from my knowledge of Celtic design and the Celtic environment in which I live; anything from the wild coastline to the moor lands of west Penwith provide a wealth of inspiration for my work.  The designs are printed on to pre-dyed [either dip-dyed or solid colour] silk/viscose velvet or satin using devoré and discharge methods of printing.  All scarves are finished with hand-rolled hems or lined with a lightweight crepe de chine, dyed to tone with the colour of the scarf.  My designs can also be ‘engineered’ for commissioned one-off garments – contact me by email for further information.

My greetings cards are made from hand made papers, pressed leaves and flowers, printed motifs, plus I do miniature original watercolours of ancient sites of west Penwith.  Where possible re-cycled card blanks are used for my cards, and I will personalise cards to order.


Visits can be made to my studio by appointment during the winter months or email me for current details of shops/galleries that stock my products.

As a member of the 'Made in Cornwall' Approved Origin Scheme, I can be found at a number of their Craft Fairs each season, some of which are held at National Trust properties throughout the county. I am also a member of the Crafts Council National Register of Makers.
